How to put a bike on a bike rack?

Open up the bike rack (if it is folded). Then you lift the bike on the rack by placing it on the arms. Clamp down the locks on the frame and strap on the straps on the wheels. Shake the bike to make sure it is secure. Then you are ready to go!

How to put a bike rack on a car?

It depends on the type of car and bike car holder you have.

  • Tow bar rack -- simply lift the rack onto the tow ball. Then twist and fasten the locking mechanism as the bottom of the rack (next to the tow ball).
  • Trunk rack -- First loosen the knobs to unfold the arms. Adjust the arms at a proper angle and then tighten the knob again. Position the rack on the rear of car. Attach upper hocks on the top of the rear door while adjusting the position of the rack. Attach side hocks and bottom hocks to the car trunk door. Then tighten each strap to ensure the bike carrier is secured and stable.
  • Hitch mount bike rack -- slide the hitch mount rack into the receiver hitch at the back of the car. Fasten the rack with the hitch pin, and tighten the turn knobs to secure the position. Then unfold the arms, and you are ready to attach the bike!
How secure are towbar racks?

The towbar mounted bike carriers are a sturdy and secure way of transporting up to 4 cycles on the back of your car. They are much stronger and secure than carriers that strap to the tailgate of your car. This eliminates chances of damage to your car.

The bicycle holder is positioned against the vehicle's paint with straps fastened to the sides of the trunk door. This means that the bicycle carrier is always in contact with your car, and can rub against it and cause scratches.
