How to install Ortlieb panniers?
The panniers come with two top hooks and one bottom one that aligns with your bike’s rear rack. To attach it, lift the handle to open the hooks. Then lift the bag and slide the bottom hook onto the rack and attach the top hook to the top of the rack. Simply let them snap shut and they are fitted! To prevent the top hooks from wobbling, add the reducers which will fit tightly on your rack. If you want to take it off, simply lift the handle.
How big a pannier do I need?
For commuting, we recommend a pannier bike frame bag that is at least 20 litres. That should be enough to fit your essentials like your laptop, lunch and spare clothes. If you wish to bring more stuff or plan on going on an overnight trip, a double 20 litres pannier is advised. Any more weight might affect the balance of your bike or hit the frame.
What are Ortlieb bags made of?
Incredible durable polyester fabric. Most of them are also waterproof with a strong, inner thermoplastic waterproof coating.
Will my Ortlieb panniers fit on my rack?
Most panniers are “universal” and will fit to most tube-shaped racks.
