Developed specifically for tubular enthusiasts, Effetto Carogna Tubular GlueTape M offers a fast, clean, and secure adhesive option that rivals the best mastics in both performance and heat-resistance. While retaining the benefits of traditional tapes, our team set out with the ambitious goal of creating a double-sided adhesive tape that could compete with top mastics. We also took into consideration the unique needs of cyclocross and off-road riding, providing a detailed how-to guide for these disciplines.

Effetto Carogna Tubular GlueTape M is a specially designed and thoroughly tested product, ensuring optimal performance on all types of rim materials (aluminum, carbon) and tubulars (seamless, handmade, vulcanized sew-ups) for both on and off-road use. Its adhesion is strong and consistent, covering the entire circumference of the rim and the base tape of the tubular. Unlike other gluing methods, it addresses the issue of limited adhesion at the edges or center of the base tape by utilizing specific adhesive properties for both the rim and tubular.

Carogna tape has two application-specific type of glues:

• Semi-structural but removable on the rim-side - The industrial-strength acrylic glue ensures strong adhesion. When removing the tubular, the glue will remain on Carogna tape instead of the rim. This reliable adhesive works well on both aluminum and carbon.
• Permanent on the tubular side - This product features a 1 mm-thick layer of high-viscosity, permanent glue, originally designed for underwater use. The glue will conform and mold to the shape of the tubular base tape when inflated, creating an ideal surface for gluing. It is highly effective for use with any type of base tape material, including nylon, cotton, and poly-cotton, as well as various external finishes such as raw, brushed, or neoprene coatings.

Once adhesion is set, riding the tubular at low temperatures (down to -40°C/-40°F) is not a problem. Thermal resistance of all materials used in the manufacture of Carogna was a high priority: Carogna will provide a perfect bonding at 150°C (302°F) for extended periods (hours), exceeding the heat-resistance of even the best mastics. We recommend cleaning surfaces (rim and tubular base tape) using isopropyl alcohol or mineral spirits.

Effetto Carogna Tubular GlueTape M 25mmx16m saves time even after tubulars have been removed thanks to its clean removal process. The tape leaves the rim residue-free and does not require additional cleaning before gluing with a new Carogna tape. In some cases, traces of Carogna glue may remain on the rim, but they are minimal and can be easily left in place. Even if a tubular has previously been glued with Carogna, it can still be re-glued by slowly peeling off the Carogna tape and using a new one for a strong and reliable hold.
