3802 LLU MAX BO - MAX-Design, Double Row, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3, Radial Suspension Bearing - 15 x 24 x 7mm
Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings two decades ago to tackle challenges inherent in mountain bike pivots. These MAX bearings offer a substantial 35-40% increase in load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. Their unique design incorporates a full complement of balls inserted into the bearing via a custom ground slot in the races. Deeper race grooves provide enhanced lateral support, effectively countering twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots.
This MAX-type, Double-Row, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3 bearing boasts deep-groove design races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals, ensuring maximum protection against environmental elements. Maintaining a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease, this bearing significantly reduces flex in suspension linkages, doubling the bearing contact area. Its black-oxide coating adds an extra layer of corrosion resistance, ensuring prolonged worry-free performance.
Notably, Pivot and Santa Cruz bikes have utilized this bearing as a suspension pivot bearing.
Within the Enduro line of bearings, options encompass high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls. These bearings consistently prioritize the deepest groove races to accommodate the largest balls, featuring dual-lip seals navigating a micro-groove, providing superior protection against environmental elements.
