Enduro Bearings innovated MAX-type bearings over 20 years ago to overcome mountain bike pivot challenges. These bearings offer 35-40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings through a unique design. The design allows the insertion of the maximum number of balls into the bearing via a customized ground slot in the races. With deep race grooves, these bearings provide heightened lateral support, effectively countering the twisting and multi-directional forces linked to mountain bike pivots. This ABEC-3 bearing showcases deep-groove design races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals ensuring maximum protection against environmental elements while retaining 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease.
Several bicycle brands, including Trek, have utilized this bearing as a suspension pivot.
Enduro's bearing range includes high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 options featuring ceramic or stainless balls. These bearings are consistently designed with the deepest groove races to accommodate larger balls and boast dual-lip seals navigating micro-grooves, forming a comprehensive labyrinth ensuring unmatched protection against the elements.
