Enduro Bearings developed MAX-type bearings over two decades ago specifically for bicycles, tackling the unique stresses found in mountain bike pivots. MAX bearings offer 35-40% greater load capacity than typical radial bearings by incorporating the highest possible number of balls, achieved through precision-ground slots in the races. These additional balls, combined with deep race grooves, enhance lateral support against the complex forces mountain bike pivots endure. This Black-Oxide MAX bearing features deep-groove raceways, Grade 10 balls, and dual-lip LLU labyrinth seals, ensuring superior protection from contaminants while retaining 90% filled Almagard high-pressure grease. The Black-Oxide/Magnetite finish further boosts corrosion resistance and durability for reliable, long-lasting performance.
This bearing is widely utilized as a suspension pivot bearing by various bicycle manufacturers. The Enduro series offers options in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD15 variants with either ceramic or stainless steel balls. Designed with the deepest possible groove races to fit the largest balls, these bearings also incorporate dual-lip seals that engage a micro-groove, forming a complete labyrinth seal for exceptional protection against environmental contaminants.
