A radial Bottom Bracket Bearing incorporates 52100 High-Carbon Chromium alloy races coupled with grade 5 Balls and a 90% fill of high-pressure, water-proof grease. Tailored explicitly for bicycle applications, these bearings employ an LLU/LLB seal combination for enhanced protection. The bearings feature a robust grey LLU seal facing outward, shielding against water or dirt infiltration, while the black LLB seals facing inward ensure minimal seal drag, preserving the grease.
Typically utilized as a direct substitute for Shimano external cup BBs in conjunction with the plastic Shimano bearing insert, this bearing serves as a common replacement. To avoid employing the plastic insert, the MR 2437 bearing is the recommended alternative for the task.
