Over two decades ago, Enduro Bearings introduced MAX type bearings for bicycles, specifically to tackle the challenges encountered with mountain bike pivots. These MAX-type bearings exhibit a 35-40% higher load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. Achieving this enhanced capacity involves a unique design, maximizing the number of balls inserted via custom ground slots within the races. These additional balls, alongside deeper race grooves, significantly bolster lateral support, effectively countering the twisting and multi-directional forces inherent in mountain bike pivots.
The ABEC-3 MAX-type bearing from Enduro, featuring a Black-Oxide finish, encompasses deep-groove design races equipped with Grade 10 balls. It integrates full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals to ensure maximum protection against the elements. Retaining a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease and furnished with Black-Oxide/Magnetite coating, this bearing delivers an added layer of corrosion resistance, ensuring extended performance without worries.
Renowned bicycle brands, such as Orbea, have utilized this bearing as a suspension pivot bearing due to its outstanding characteristics.
Enduro's bearing series includes variants made from high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls.
