Enduro Bearings introduced MAX type bearings for bicycles over two decades ago, specifically targeting the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. These bearings offer 35-40% higher load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. This is achieved by a unique design that inserts the maximum number of balls into the bearing via a custom ground slot in the races. The additional balls, combined with deep race grooves, provide superior lateral support, effectively countering the twisting and multi-directional forces linked to mountain bike pivots. This ABEC-3 bearing features deep-groove design races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals, ensuring maximum protection against environmental elements while retaining a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease inside.
Several bicycle brands, including Trek, have utilized this bearing as a suspension pivot bearing.
Enduro's bearing line includes variants crafted from high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls. Our bearings are consistently engineered with the deepest possible groove races to accommodate larger balls. They also incorporate dual-lip seals that move within a micro-groove, creating a complete labyrinth to offer superior protection against environmental factors.
