Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings more than two decades ago for bicycles, specifically to overcome the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. These MAX-type bearings deliver 35-40% higher load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. This is achieved through a distinctive design that maximizes the number of balls inserted into the bearing via a custom ground slot in the races. The added balls, in conjunction with deep race grooves, offer increased lateral support, effectively countering the twisting and multi-directional forces often encountered in mountain bike pivots.
This particular MAX-type, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3 bearing showcases deep-groove design races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals, ensuring optimal protection against the elements. The bearing retains 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease and features a Black-Oxide/Magnetite coating for enhanced corrosion resistance and extended performance without worries.
Numerous bicycle brands have employed this bearing as a suspension pivot bearing.
The Enduro line of bearings is available in various materials like high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls.
