Over two decades ago, Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings specifically tailored for bicycles, addressing challenges related to mountain bike pivots. These MAX-type bearings offer a substantial 35-40% increase in load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. Achieving this enhanced capability involves a unique design method, where the maximum number of balls is meticulously inserted into the bearing via a specially designed ground slot in the races. This design feature, combined with deep race grooves, significantly augments lateral support, effectively countering the twisting and multi-directional forces inherent in mountain bike pivots. The ABEC-3 bearing variant showcases deep-groove design races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals, ensuring optimal protection against environmental elements while maintaining a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease.

This bearing size has found extensive usage as a suspension pivot bearing across numerous bicycle brands, including Orbea and Trek.

The Enduro line of bearings encompasses high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 variants with ceramic or stainless balls.
