6808 LLU MAX - MAX-Type, ABEC-3 Radial Suspension Bearing - 40 x 52 x 7mm
Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings for bicycles over 20 years ago, primarily targeting the challenges linked to mountain bike pivots. MAX-type bearings offer a remarkable 35-40% increase in load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. This boost is achieved through a unique design that maximizes the number of balls inserted into the bearing, employing a specialized ground slot within the races. The added balls, complemented by deep race grooves, significantly enhance lateral support, effectively handling the twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots.
In particular, this ABEC-3 bearing showcases deep-groove design races paired with Grade 10 balls and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals, offering optimal protection against environmental factors while retaining a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease.
This bearing has been utilized as a suspension pivot bearing by a couple of smaller bicycle brands, including Pole Bikes.
