Over two decades ago, Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings specifically for bicycles to tackle the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. These MAX bearings offer a 35-40% increase in load capacity compared to standard radial bearings by integrating a special design. These bearings feature a maximum number of balls (full-complement) inserted into the bearing, along with deeper race grooves, providing heightened lateral support. This counters the twisting and multi-directional forces common in mountain bike pivots. The MAX-type ABEC-3 bearing, treated with Black-Oxide, showcases deep-groove design races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals. This setup ensures maximum protection against environmental elements while maintaining a 90% fill of Almagard Extra High-Pressure Grease. Additionally, the Black-Oxide/Magnetite coating offers added corrosion resistance and extended performance reliability.
