Over two decades ago, Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings tailored for bicycles, specifically addressing the challenges posed by mountain bike pivots. These MAX-type bearings offer a significant load capacity boost—35-40% more than standard radial bearings—by employing a distinct design. This design maximizes the number of balls inserted into the bearing through a custom ground slot in the races. Additionally, the deeper race grooves in these bearings provide enhanced lateral support, effectively countering the twisting and multi-directional forces typical in mountain bike pivots. This ABEC-3 bearing comprises deep-groove design races with Grade 10 balls and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals, ensuring maximum protection against environmental elements while retaining a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease inside.
Several bicycle brands have employed this bearing as a suspension pivot bearing.
The Enduro line offers bearings in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls. Our bearings are consistently engineered with the deepest possible groove races to accommodate the largest balls and are equipped with dual-lip seals that navigate micro-grooves, creating a comprehensive labyrinth. This design ensures superior protection against environmental factors.
