7902 2RS MAX - Angular-Contact, MAX-Design, ABEC-3 Radial Suspension Bearing - 15 x 28 x 7mm
Enduro Bearings revolutionized cycling over two decades ago with the introduction of MAX-type bearings, specifically engineered to tackle the rigours of mountain bike pivots. These MAX-type bearings elevate load capacity by 35-40% compared to standard radial bearings. They achieve this through a unique design that maximizes ball insertion into the bearing via a customized ground slot in the races. Complemented by deep race grooves, these additional balls offer unparalleled lateral support, effectively countering the twisting and multi-directional forces encountered in mountain bike pivots. The ABEC-3 variant of this bearing boasts deep-groove design races, grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-rubber seals, ensuring supreme protection against elemental intrusions. The bearing retains a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease, vital for optimal functioning. When meticulously installed and adjusted, Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) bearings proficiently engage all the bearing balls, distributing force across a larger surface area. This strategic distribution minimizes friction, curtails wear, and substantially extends the bearing's lifespan.
Widely adopted as a suspension pivot bearing by Santa Cruz, this bearing stands as a testament to its reliability and performance.
The diverse Enduro line encompasses high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 variants with ceramic or stainless balls. Each bearing undergoes meticulous engineering, featuring races with the deepest possible grooves, accommodating the largest balls available. Additionally, they incorporate dual-lip seals navigating through micro-grooves, creating an impregnable labyrinth. This design ensures superior protection against environmental elements, ensuring prolonged durability and optimum performance.
