ACB 3645 CC SS - 1 1/8" 440C Stainless Steel Angular Contact Headset Bearing - 30.2 x 41 x 6.5mm (36 x 45 deg)

Not all stainless steel varieties are equal. Enduro exclusively utilizes 440C stainless steel for both balls and races, ensuring prolonged durability and superior resistance to corrosion, especially in applications and environments that might not be ideal. Among the standard 440-series stainless alloys with high carbon content, 440C stands out for its exceptional strength, hardness, and wear resistance. As anticipated, it is the most expensive alloy in the 440 series, demanding multiple rounds of heat treatment and cryogenic processing to achieve its remarkable mechanical properties. Despite having a 20% lower load capacity and being slightly softer than our standard 52100 chromium steel, commonly used in most bearings, stainless steel, particularly 440C, is an excellent alternative, especially in wet conditions, frequent bike washing scenarios, or where sweat exposure is prevalent. Additionally, Enduro Bearings incorporates LLB-type seals and CRC Marine Grease into these bearings to reinforce waterproofing against the elements.

The Enduro lineup of angular-contact headset bearings commences with Black Oxide-treated Chromium Steel races, advances to complete 440C stainless steel, and reaches the apex with the XD-15 aerospace-stainless series, guaranteed for a lifetime (comprising races and balls). These bearings are consistently engineered to accommodate the largest possible balls, featuring dual-lip seals navigating within micro-grooves (labyrinth), and are 90% filled with high-pressure waterproof grease, providing unparalleled protection against sweat and environmental elements. Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) bearings are meticulously designed to ensure all balls are uniformly engaged, effectively distributing force across a larger surface area, thereby reducing wear and maximizing the bearing's lifespan.
