ACB 4545 137 SS - 1 3/8" Stainless Steel Angular Contact Headset Bearing - 37 x 46.85 x 7mm (45 x 45 deg)

Not all types of stainless steel are equivalent.

Enduro exclusively relies on 440C stainless steel balls and races to ensure extended lifespan and exceptional resistance to corrosion in challenging environments. Among the standard 440-series stainless alloys with high carbon content, 440C stands out for its superior strength, hardness, and wear resistance. It's also the most costly alloy within the 440 series, requiring multiple rounds of heat treatment and cryogenic processes to achieve its outstanding mechanical properties. Despite stainless steel having 20% less load capacity and being marginally softer than our standard 52100 chromium steel, widely used in most bearings, it serves as an excellent option, especially in wet conditions, frequent bike washes, or areas prone to sweat. Enduro Bearings additionally employ LLB-type seals and CRC Marine grease in these bearings to further waterproof them against environmental elements. Enduro's 440C stainless headset bearings match those found in numerous renowned headset brands, some offering a lengthy 110-year warranty.

The Enduro lineup of angular-contact headset bearings begins with Black Oxide-treated Chromium Steel races, progresses to complete 440C stainless steel, and reaches the pinnacle with the XD-15 aerospace-stainless (comprising both races and balls), backed by a lifetime guarantee. These bearings are consistently designed to accommodate the largest possible balls, featuring dual-lip seals running in a micro-groove (labyrinth) and filled to 90% capacity with high-pressure waterproof grease, ensuring unmatched protection against sweat and environmental elements. Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) bearings are intricately engineered to engage all balls, effectively spreading force across a larger surface area, thereby reducing wear and maximizing the bearings' lifespan.
