ACB 4545 1375 SS - 1 3/8" 440C Stainless Steel Angular Contact Headset Bearing - 37 x 49 x 7mm (45 x 45 deg)

Not every stainless steel is made equal.

Enduro exclusively opts for 440C stainless steel balls and races to ensure extended durability and superior resistance to corrosion in less-than-ideal applications and environments. Among the standard 440-series stainless alloys with high carbon content, 440C stands out for possessing the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance. As expected, it is also the priciest among the 440 series alloys, requiring multiple rounds of heat treatment and cryogenic processes to attain its exceptional mechanical properties. Although stainless steel has 20% less load capacity and is marginally softer compared to our standard 52100 chromium steel commonly used in most of our bearings, it remains an excellent choice, especially in wet conditions, frequent bike cleaning, or areas prone to sweat. Enduro Bearings also integrates LLB-type seals and CRC Marine grease into these bearings for additional waterproofing against environmental elements. Enduro's 440C stainless headset bearings mirror those found in numerous renowned headset brands, some offering a lengthy 110-year warranty.

The Enduro range of angular-contact headset bearings begins with Black Oxide treated Chromium Steel races, progresses to full 440C stainless steel, and reaches the top tier with the XD-15 aerospace-stainless (including both races and balls), backed by a lifetime guarantee. They are consistently engineered with the largest possible balls, featuring dual-lip seals riding in a micro-groove (labyrinth) and filled to 90% capacity with high-pressure waterproof grease, ensuring unparalleled protection against sweat and environmental elements. Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) bearings are meticulously designed to engage all balls, effectively distributing force across a larger surface area, thereby minimizing wear and maximizing the bearings' lifespan.
