B 541 SS - 1" Stainless Steel, Torque-Tube Radial Design Headset Bearing - 1 1/16 x 1 1/2 x 9/32 inch

Radial bearings designed for internal headsets are equipped with 440C stainless steel balls and races, offering maximum resistance against corrosion. Torque Tube bearings feature inner races that are slightly wider than the outer race.

Not all stainless steel varieties share the same attributes.

Enduro exclusively utilizes 440C stainless steel balls and races to ensure extended lifespan and exceptional resistance to corrosion, especially in applications and environments that might not be ideal. Among the standard 440-series stainless alloys with high carbon content, 440C stands out for its superior strength, hardness, and wear resistance. However, it's worth noting that it is also the most costly alloy within the 440 series and demands multiple rounds of heat treatment and cryogenic treatment to achieve its superior mechanical properties. Although stainless steel has a 20% lower load capacity and is slightly softer compared to our standard 52100 chromium steel, which is prevalent in most of our bearings, it serves as an excellent alternative for use in wet conditions, frequent bike washes, or areas prone to sweat. Enduro Bearings further fortify these bearings with LLB-type seals and CRC Marine grease, providing additional waterproofing against various elements. Notably, Enduro 440C stainless headset bearings are the same bearings featured in numerous well-known headset brands, some of which offer a 110-year warranty.

The Enduro lineup of angular-contact headset bearings initiates with Black Oxide-treated Chromium Steel races, progresses to complete 440C stainless steel, and reaches the apex with the XD-15 aerospace-stainless (both races and balls), backed by a lifetime guarantee. These bearings are consistently engineered with the largest possible balls, incorporate dual-lip seals within a micro-groove (labyrinth), and are filled to 90% capacity with high-pressure waterproof grease, ensuring ultimate protection against sweat and environmental elements. Engineered for uniform ball engagement, Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) bearings distribute force across a larger surface area, resulting in reduced friction, minimized wear, and extended lifespan.
