B 543 LLB SS - 1 1/2" Stainless Steel Headset Bearing - 1 9/16 x 2 x 9/32 inch

1-1/2 bearing intended for Internal Headsets is equipped with 440C stainless steel balls and races, ensuring exceptional resistance to corrosion.

Not all stainless steel variants possess the same attributes. Enduro exclusively opts for 440C stainless steel balls and races to ensure extended durability and superior resistance to corrosion, particularly in challenging applications and less-than-ideal environments. Among the standard 440-series stainless alloys with high carbon content, 440C stands out for its remarkable strength, hardness, and wear resistance. It's important to note that 440C is the priciest alloy within the 440 series and necessitates multiple rounds of heat treatment and cryogenic treatment to achieve its outstanding mechanical properties. Despite having a 20% lower load capacity and being slightly softer compared to our standard 52100 chromium steel prevalent in most of our bearings, stainless steel serves as an excellent alternative, especially in wet conditions, frequent bike washes, or areas prone to sweat. Enduro Bearings enhance these bearings with LLB-type seals and CRC Marine grease, providing additional waterproofing against various elements. Notably, Enduro 440C stainless headset bearings are identical to bearings featured in numerous popular headset brands, some of which offer a 110-year warranty.

The Enduro line-up of angular-contact headset bearings commences with Black Oxide-treated Chromium Steel races, progresses to complete 440C stainless steel, and reaches the apex with the XD-15 aerospace-stainless (both races and balls), backed by a lifetime guarantee. These bearings are consistently engineered with the largest possible balls, incorporating dual-lip seals within a micro-groove (labyrinth), and are filled to 90% capacity with high-pressure waterproof grease. Engineered for uniform ball engagement, Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) bearings distribute force across a larger surface area, resulting in reduced friction, minimized wear, and extended lifespan.
