This ABEC-5 ceramic-hybrid bearing includes deep-groove 52100 high-carbon chromium alloy races and grade 5 silicon-nitride ceramic balls. Equipped with dual-lip labyrinth (LLB) seals, it resists external contaminants and retains 90% fill of Kluber NBU52 waterproof grease, ensuring ultra-smooth operation. The Si3N4 ceramic balls minimize wear and extend bearing lifespan by preventing steel-to-steel contact inside the bearing.
This radial bearing, utilized by Mavic as a hub bearing and for pivot applications, is part of the Enduro line, which includes options in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls. Designed with the deepest groove races to fit the largest balls, these bearings feature dual-lip seals that engage a micro-groove, forming a full labyrinth seal for enhanced protection against environmental contaminants. While effective in pivot roles, the MAX-type version is more suitable for suspension applications.
