Enduro Bearings introduced MAX bearings for bicycles over 20 years ago to tackle the challenges of mountain bike pivots. Featuring a unique design that maximizes the number of balls (full-complement), MAX bearings offer 35-40% more load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. Additionally, the race grooves are deeper to provide enhanced lateral support, counteracting the twisting and multi-directional forces encountered during mountain biking. This ABEC-3 bearing boasts a MAX-type, double-row, black-oxide construction with deep-groove races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals for superior protection against the elements. And with a 90% fill of Almagard extra high pressure grease, this bearing ensures worry-free performance. The double-row design reduces flex in the suspension linkage and doubles the bearing contact area, while the black-oxide coating adds an extra layer of corrosion resistance for extended use.
This bearing serves as a pivotal suspension component for Evil, Yeti, and Atherton bikes.
Enduro bearings come in various material options such as high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls. These bearings are designed with deep groove races to fit large balls and feature dual-lip seals for optimal protection against the elements.
