Enduro introduced MAX-type bearings over two decades ago specifically for bicycles to tackle the unique demands of mountain bike pivots. These bearings offer 35-40% higher load capacity than typical radial bearings by maximizing the number of balls inside. Their deep race grooves provide enhanced lateral support to withstand the twisting and multi-directional forces in pivots. This MAX-model, black-oxide, ABEC-3 bearing includes Grade 10 balls and full-contact double-lip labyrinth (LLU) seals to protect against contamination while retaining Almagard grease at 90% fill. The black-oxide/magnetite finish improves corrosion resistance and ensures long-lasting reliability. The flanged shape guarantees precise fitting into swing arm and suspension linkage holes, and the extended inner race removes the need for extra spacers when connecting linkages.
Enduro bearings come in a range of materials including high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 options with either ceramic or stainless steel balls. They are engineered with the deepest possible groove races to fit the largest ball sizes, paired with dual-lip seals that engage in a micro-groove, forming a complete labyrinth for exceptional protection against contaminants.
