Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX-type bearings over 20 years ago to meet the unique demands of mountain bike suspension pivots. MAX-type bearings deliver 35–40% higher load capacity than standard radial bearings by fitting the maximum number of balls into the bearing via a precision-ground slot in the races. The additional balls, combined with deep race grooves, provide enhanced lateral support to handle the twisting and multi-directional forces generated at suspension pivots.
This ABEC-3 bearing features deep-groove raceways, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip labyrinth (LLU) seals to protect against dirt, water, and debris, while retaining 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease. The flanged design ensures accurate installation into swing-arm and suspension linkage through-holes, and the extended inner race eliminates the need for extra spacers when connecting suspension linkages.
This bearing has been used as a suspension pivot bearing by Yeti.
Enduro bearings are available in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 options with either ceramic or stainless balls. All bearings are engineered with the deepest possible race grooves to accommodate larger balls and feature dual-lip seals running in a micro-groove to create a full labyrinth seal for superior protection against the elements.
