Enduro Bearings introduced MAX-type bearings over two decades ago to tackle the demands of mountain bike pivots. These bearings offer 35-40% greater load capacity than standard radial bearings by incorporating the maximum number of balls through a specially ground slot in the races. The combination of extra balls and deep race grooves enhances lateral support against twisting and multi-directional forces typical in mountain bike pivots. This ABEC-3 bearing includes deep-groove races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact double-lip labyrinth (LLU) seals to protect against contaminants while retaining 90% Almagard high-pressure grease. Its flanged design allows accurate fitting in swing-arm and suspension linkage holes, and the extended inner race removes the need for additional spacers in suspension linkages.
This bearing has been utilized by Yeti as a suspension pivot bearing. Enduro offers bearings in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 variants with either ceramic or stainless steel balls. Designed with the deepest possible groove races to fit the largest balls, these bearings also feature dual-lip seals that engage a micro-groove, forming a complete labyrinth for exceptional protection against environmental contaminants.
