Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX-type bearings over 20 years ago specifically for bicycles, addressing the unique demands of mountain bike suspension pivots. MAX-type bearings deliver 35–40% greater load capacity than standard radial bearings by maximizing the number of balls inside the bearing. This is achieved through a precision-ground slot in the races that allows additional balls to be installed. The increased ball count, combined with deep race grooves, provides enhanced lateral stability to handle the twisting and multi-directional forces generated at suspension pivot points.
This ABEC-3 bearing features deep-groove raceways, precision Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip labyrinth (LLU) seals to ensure maximum protection from dirt, water, and debris. It is packed to 90% capacity with Almagard extra high-pressure grease to maintain smooth performance while keeping contaminants out.
This bearing has been used as a suspension pivot bearing by several bicycle brands, including Santa Cruz.
The Enduro bearing lineup is available in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic hybrid, and XD-15 configurations with either ceramic or stainless steel balls. Every bearing is engineered with the deepest possible race grooves to accommodate the largest balls and incorporates dual-lip seals that run in a micro-groove, forming a full labyrinth seal for superior protection against the elements.
