This radial bearing contains 440C stainless steel alloy races and Grade 10 balls, designed with dual-seals and a 90% fill that is coated in Mobil XHP 222 high pressure water proof grease. This combination is specifically engineered to withstand daily use and exposure to harsh environmental conditions.
This particular bearing size is commonly utilized in hubs and can also function as a pivot bearing. However, the MAX-type version of this bearing provides superior performance when used in suspension applications.
Not all stainless steel is created equal.
Enduro utilizes only the highest quality 440C stainless steel balls and races, known for their exceptional durability and unmatched resistance to corrosion in challenging environments. As the strongest and hardest of all 440-series stainless alloys containing a high carbon content, 440C is the top choice for industries looking to maximize performance and longevity. While it comes at a premium price and requires specialized heat and cryogenic treatments, the results are well worth the investment. Though slightly less load capacity and softer than our 52100 chromium steel bearings, stainless steel is ideal for wet conditions, frequent bike washing, or areas where sweat may be a factor.
The Enduro line of bearings includes variants such as high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15. These bearings are designed with the largest balls possible, utilizing deep groove races, and are equipped with dual-lip seals that ride in a micro-groove. This advanced design creates a labyrinth for ultimate protection against external elements.
