These Bottom Bracket bearings are crafted with 440C stainless steel alloy races and balls, filled to 90% with high-pressure, waterproof grease to ensure superior resistance against corrosion.
Not all stainless steel is created equal.
Enduro exclusively utilizes 440C stainless steel balls and races to ensure durability and exceptional corrosion resistance, even in challenging environments. This alloy offers the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance among standard 440-series stainless steels due to its high carbon content. Its superior mechanical properties result from multiple heat and cryogenic treatments, making it the most costly in the 440 series. While stainless steel has about 20% lower load capacity and is slightly softer than the 52100 chromium steel commonly used in our bearings, it remains an excellent choice for wet conditions, frequent bike washing, or exposure to sweat.
This bearing is primarily designed as a direct replacement for Shimano external cup bottom brackets when paired with the plastic Shimano bearing insert. For those looking to bypass the plastic insert, the MR 2437 bearing is the appropriate alternative.
