This radial bearing is manufactured with 440C stainless steel alloy races and precision Grade 10 balls. It features dual-lip labyrinth (LLB) seals and is packed to 90% capacity with Klüber NBU52—an ultra-smooth, tacky, waterproof grease—designed to handle daily wear and harsh environmental exposure.
This bearing is commonly used as a freehub bearing, particularly in various Mavic hub systems.
Not all stainless steel is created equal.
Enduro exclusively utilizes 440C stainless steel for both balls and races to ensure maximum durability and superior resistance to corrosion in demanding conditions. With its high carbon content, 440C delivers the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance of all standard 440-series stainless alloys. It is also the most premium option in the series and undergoes multiple heat-treatment cycles along with cryogenic processing to achieve its outstanding mechanical properties. While stainless steel offers roughly 20% less load capacity and is slightly softer than the 52100 chromium steel used in most standard bearings, it remains an excellent solution for wet environments, frequent bike washing, or exposure to sweat.

The Enduro bearing range is offered in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic hybrid, and XD-15 configurations with either ceramic or stainless balls. Each bearing is engineered with the deepest possible race grooves to accommodate larger balls and incorporates dual-lip seals that run within a micro-groove, forming a full labyrinth seal for exceptional protection against dirt, water, and debris.
