The T47A ceramic bottom bracket merges the strengths of T47 and BBRight standards into a single, versatile component. This asymmetric design features a T47 external cup on the drive side paired with a T47 internal cup on the non-drive side, delivering optimised performance across different frame geometries and compatibility requirements.
The T47 Asymmetric standard accommodates both Factor and Cervelo frame geometries with a single bottom bracket solution. Compatible with T47A frames featuring either 79mm (Cervelo) or 77.5mm (Factor) bottom bracket shells, this design leverages the natural adjustment range of modern cranksets, eliminating the need for multiple components across different bike platforms.
Seal Options:
Choose road bearings for road bikes
Choose cross bearings for mountain bike, gravel and cyclocross or if you frequently ride your road bike on wet roads.
FITMENT
T47a frames
SHELL WIDTH
77.5mm or 79mm
COMPATIBILITY
Engineered for universal compatibility with 30mm spindle cranksets, this bottom bracket accommodates virtually all modern drivetrain configurations. Rare exceptions include cranksets designed exclusively for 68mm shells and proprietary systems such as Cannondale SiSL2 or Specialized FACT variants with integrated power measurement, which may require alternative solutions.
INSTALLATION
Installation flexibility is built into this design. The drive side cup accepts Park Tool BBT-79 or any 12-notch tool with a 44mm nominal outer diameter, while the non-drive side cup works with standard Enduro Torq-Tite compatible tools, ensuring accessibility across professional and home workshop environments.
ABOUT
Kogel's hybrid bearing technology combines silicon nitride ceramic balls with precision-hardened, mirror-polished steel races to deliver exceptional durability and efficiency. Rated to Grade 3/ABEC 5 standards, these bearings minimise rotational resistance and resist premature wear, translating to extended service intervals and reliable performance across demanding riding conditions.
Kogel's "1 + 1" warranty provides comprehensive coverage across two years of ownership. The first year offers hassle-free replacement, while year two requires documented service completion to rule out contamination-related wear before processing claims. Refer to the Kogel service manual in the resources section for proper maintenance protocols that preserve warranty eligibility.
Annual servicing is recommended to maintain optimal bearing performance and longevity. Kogel offers affordable maintenance options that keep your bottom bracket operating smoothly and extend component lifespan, making preventative care a worthwhile investment in drivetrain reliability.
