Deep, dark and fast: the Magene EXAR DB405 UltraDark is a carbon disc wheelset for riders who want race speed with everyday composure.
EXAR builds the DB405 UltraDark as one integrated design rather than a box of parts, using HI-MOD T800 carbon fibre for the rims and spokes. The result is a light, stiff wheelset that gets you rolling quickly and answers hard when you put the power down. A lower front rim keeps the steering calm while the deeper rear carries its speed, so you ride efficiently without fighting the bars in a crosswind.
The 30mm wide rim with a 23mm internal width is shaped for disc brakes. With a 28-32c tyre fitted, the tyre and rim sit flush for a flatter aero surface and a more comfortable ride.

- 2:1 balanced lacing; rear spoke tension 130kgf drive side, 110kgf non-drive side
- 36-tooth flat engagement ratchet, compatible with the DT system; a 54T ratchet is sold separately
- Freehub: Shimano HG 11-speed fitted; Campagnolo N3W and SRAM XDR freehubs sold separately
- Brake: Centrelock disc rotor mount
- Axles: 100/142mm thru-axle
- Tyres: clincher or tubeless (hooked rim), 25c and up, 28-32c suggested; maximum 110psi clincher, 100psi tubeless
