The Noken represents a precision spring modification engineered to expand air-spring capacity within your RockShox Zeb fork. By increasing internal volume, this upgrade decreases compression ratios and delivers a more progressive spring characteristic that replicates the supple, forgiving behavior of traditional coil springs, with ramping engagement as you approach end stroke.
The Noken air cap expands the spring chamber above the crown, effectively adding 1.1 Bottomless Tokens' worth of volume to RockShox Zeb and 35mm forks, or equivalent to 1.5 volume spacers in Fox 38 models. This straightforward modification solves a critical tuning dilemma for long-travel fork users: achieving compliance early in the stroke while maintaining mid-range support and maximizing available travel. The Noken enables you to dial in that essential equilibrium without compromise.
Modern air spring engineering prioritizes expanded negative chamber volume to enhance small-bump responsiveness and compliance. A generous negative volume lowers initial spring rates, allowing your suspension to absorb trail chatter more effectively. The challenge lies in the inverse relationship: enlarging the negative chamber typically compromises positive volume, causing the fork to ramp aggressively near end stroke and limiting full travel utilization. The Noken resolves this fundamental design constraint.
The Noken delivers the performance advantages of increased negative volume while eliminating conventional compromises. This upgrade preserves the small-bump sensitivity and mid-stroke support that modern air springs provide, while simultaneously recovering the full travel range that stock progressions typically sacrifice through aggressive end-stroke ramping. You gain compliance without penalty.
WARNING:
The Noken is 10-13mm taller than standard damper control knobs, so it’s important to confirm downtube clearance before installation. Review our clearance guidelines or download our 3D printable files (Zeb/RS 35 and 38) to help with this step. Additionally, you can use the new Riser Crown Race to create the needed clearance, available in HighRise (+10mm) or LowRise (+5mm) options.
