Engineered to expand air-spring volume, this upgrade delivers a lower compression ratio and refined progressive spring curve that replicates the responsive characteristics of traditional coil suspension. The result is a plush, controlled feel with ramping support at the end stroke for improved small-bump compliance and mid-stroke consistency.
This crown race upgrade expands the air chamber to effectively increase spring volume—equivalent to 1.1 Bottomless Tokens on RockShox Zeb and 35mm forks, or 1.5 volume spacers on Fox 38 models. The result is refined fork tuning that balances initial sensitivity, mid-stroke support, and full travel utilization, allowing riders to dial in the ideal suspension feel without additional spacers or tokens.
Modern air spring design prioritizes negative chamber volume to enhance small-bump sensitivity and initial compliance. While a larger negative chamber lowers the spring rate for improved trail feedback, it can compromise positive volume and create excessive progression near end-stroke, limiting full travel engagement. This upgrade addresses that limitation by optimizing the volume balance.
The Noken solves the negative volume dilemma by preserving small-bump compliance and mid-stroke support while restoring usable travel that stock air springs often sacrifice to harsh progression curves. This upgrade lets you maximize the benefits of modern air spring design without compromise, delivering the sensitivity you need across the entire stroke.
WARNING:
The Noken is 10-13mm taller than standard damper control knobs, so it’s important to confirm downtube clearance before installation. Review our clearance guidelines or download our 3D printable files (Zeb/RS 35 and 38) to help with this step. Additionally, you can use the new Riser Crown Race to create the needed clearance, available in HighRise (+10mm) or LowRise (+5mm) options.
