The Reserve 27 is designed for the way most people ride: a bit of up, a bit of down and a lot of miles in between. This is the 27.5" rim on its own, 28 hole, for a wheel built by your wheelsmith.
A 27mm inner width pairs well with tyres from 2.0" to 2.5". It is a bit lighter than the Reserve 30 with slightly thinner beads: tough, but built for trail and all-mountain riding rather than all-out aggressive use.
Reserve wheels are built on carbon rims that set strength and impact resistance as the first priority, without the harsh, wooden ride that gives some carbon rims a bad name off-road. Thick rim beads shrug off heavy hits, and Santa Cruz only makes off-road bikes, so everything about Reserve comes from knowing what riders need on the trail. Every Reserve wheel and rim is backed by a lifetime warranty, the same as Santa Cruz frames.
