We offer thru axles specifically designed for BOB Trailers, the original inspiration behind The Robert Axle Project. As long-time BOB trailer enthusiasts since 1999, we frequently use our trailers for bike tours, trail maintenance, and daily errands. Modern bicycles often feature 12mm thru axles for rear wheel attachment, which provide enhanced strength, safety, rigidity, and responsiveness. When we discovered our BOB trailers were incompatible with new mountain bike thru axles, we developed our own solution—thus launching The Robert Axle Project.
Robert Axles for BOB Trailers are precisely designed to connect the reliable BOB Trailer to bikes with thru-axles. Use our Axle Finder to select the correct thru-axle for your specific bike model. Then, simply transfer the “bobbins” from your original BOB quick release onto the Robert Axle, attach your trailer, and you’re ready to ride.
Topeak trailers:
Sorry, we don’t have a solution for the Topeak trailer. It is a unique connection system and we just haven’t seen enough of them to warrant a production run of multiple sizes of axles.
Burly CoHo trailers:
We do not make axles for Burley COHO trailers.
