We offer thru axles compatible with BOB Trailers, the foundation of The Robert Axle Project. As long-time BOB Trailers enthusiasts since 1999, we regularly use them for bike tours, trail maintenance, and everyday errands. Many modern bikes feature a 12mm thru axle connecting the rear wheel to the frame, enhancing ride quality through increased strength, safety, rigidity, and responsiveness. When we realized our BOB trailers wouldn’t fit new mountain bikes with these axles, we developed our own solution—initiating The Robert Axle Project.
The Robert Axles for BOB Trailers are precisely designed to connect your BOB Trailer to bikes with thru-axles. Select the correct thru-axle for your bike using our Axle Finder. Then, transfer the “bobbins” from your original BOB quick release onto the Robert Axle, attach your trailer, and you're ready to ride.
Topeak trailers:
Sorry, we don’t have a solution for the Topeak trailer. It is a unique connection system and we just haven’t seen enough of them to warrant a production run of multiple sizes of axles.
Burly CoHo trailers:
We do not make axles for Burley COHO trailers.
