We offer thru axles specifically designed for BOB Trailers, marking the origin of The Robert Axle Project. Having used BOB Trailers since 1999, we appreciate their convenience for bike tours, trail work, and daily errands. Many modern bikes use 12mm thru axles to secure the rear wheel to the frame, enhancing ride quality with increased strength, safety, rigidity, and responsiveness. When we discovered these new bikes were incompatible with our BOB trailers, we created a solution ourselves—thus launching The Robert Axle Project.
Robert Axles for BOB Trailers are precision-engineered to connect your trusted BOB Trailer to bikes with thru-axles. Utilize our Axle Finder to select the correct thru-axle for your bike. Simply transfer the “bobbins” from your original BOB quick release onto the Robert Axle, attach your trailer, and you’re ready to ride.
Topeak trailers:
Sorry, we don’t have a solution for the Topeak trailer. It is a unique connection system and we just haven’t seen enough of them to warrant a production run of multiple sizes of axles.
Burly CoHo trailers:
We do not make axles for Burley COHO trailers.
