The Crest rims have a rich history in the world of mountain biking. Since its inception in 2005, the design of Crest has evolved from Stan's original concepts, including the iconic 355 rims. The goal was to create a reliable and lightweight rim that could function without a tube. The current Crest MK4 achieves these objectives with its advanced 6069 alloy and an asymmetrical rim shape that evenly distributes spoke tension. Although the technology in the MK4 has come a long way from the early design, it still embodies the original Crest's spirit of being lightweight, durable, resistant to flats, and built for speed.
The Crest MK4 rim features the BST Asymmetric design, providing a durable wheel with an easy inflation process and airtight seal that is unmatched by other brands. This rim is specifically optimized for 40mm Gravel tires and can handle up to 2.3” tires, making it an ideal choice for a variety of bikes and riding styles. Constructed with 6069 alloy, the Crest MK4 offers a forgiving and lightweight ride. Its low-profile design is perfect for Gravel and short-travel XC riding, and like all rims bearing the Crest name, it prioritizes speed.
