This 21mm Rim Tape by Stan's is ideal for rims that have an internal width ranging from 19mm to 21mm.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Stan’s Yellow Tape is specifically designed for use with tubeless-ready wheels. When inflating tires to 45psi or less, simply apply one layer of yellow tape over the spoke holes on your rim. However, if you are using road tubeless or similar tires that require over 45psi of pressure, a double layer of tape is necessary.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN OLDER RIM?
The innovative BST (Bead Socket Technology) developed by Stan’s NoTubes has become the standard for "tubeless-ready" bicycles. However, traditional non-tubeless-ready rims are still in use. For these older rims, Stan's Yellow Rim Tape alone is not enough to convert them to tubeless. Stan's NoTubes Rim Strips, although now discontinued, are required for a secure tubeless setup. We strongly suggest opting for a new tubeless-ready wheelset instead of using a rim strip conversion. However, if needed, Stan's Rim Strips and kits may still be found at local bike shops for vintage bikes with older non-tubeless-ready rims. Using only Yellow Rim Tape and Stan's NoTubes sealant on a non-tubeless-ready rim can cause difficult inflation and "burping" issues. Though Stan's Rim Strips are no longer available, we still offer information and resources for converting non-tubeless-ready wheels.
