The PowerBlock is a top-tier BMX racing tyre engineered to maximize pedal efficiency and rider input, translating into quicker, more efficient rides. Featuring a steel bead and reinforced sidewall, it balances durability with performance. Its unique sidewall texture enhances abrasion resistance while maintaining flexibility. The tyre’s distinctive three-stage tread pattern, refined through an 18-month rigorous testing process with elite fast2 racers globally, ensures superior grip and control. This standard PowerBlock model perfectly blends high performance with excellent value.
KEY FEATURES
The outer knobs : The outer knobs, measuring roughly half the length of the transition knobs, are engineered to provide optimal compression and traction when leaning beyond 25 degrees. While usually unnecessary in a clean race, these knobs become crucial in challenging conditions, maintaining grip during aggressive turns and maneuvers to help you maintain control and push harder toward the finish line.
The centre row "Power Block" : When accelerating, the rear tyre’s center tread zone receives intense pedaling torque. If the center knobs are too small or tall, they flex and compress excessively, causing the tyre to grip the ground slightly longer before releasing, which wastes energy—excessive traction can hinder performance. On the other hand, if the knobs are too large or short, the tyre may slip under heavy torque before regaining grip, resulting in a loss of speed.
Each Power Block is proportionally sized to handle the torque without sticking and perfectly balanced with the proper height to minimise slipping all while retaining very low rolling resistance after take-off.
The transition knobs : The transition knobs, significantly smaller yet proportionate to the center blocks, are engineered to flex slightly when leaning beyond 15 degrees. This flexing, or compression, allows the rubber to grip the ground, enhancing traction. Positioned at a 45-degree angle to the center knobs, they support maintaining forward momentum during lateral shifts and cornering.
