609 LLU MAX BO - Max-Design, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3, Radial Suspension Bearing - 9 x 24 x 7mm
Over two decades ago, Enduro Bearings spearheaded the development of MAX-type bearings, specifically designed to tackle the challenges encountered in mountain bike pivots. These innovative MAX bearings boast an increased load capacity, offering 35-40% more than conventional radial bearings. This enhanced capacity is achieved through a specialized configuration, inserting the maximum number of balls (full-complement) into the bearing using a custom ground slot in the races. Deeper race grooves in these bearings provide augmented lateral support, countering the twisting and multi-directional forces typical of mountain bike pivots.
The ABEC-3 MAX-type bearing, featuring a Black-Oxide finish, is engineered with deep-groove design races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals, ensuring optimal protection against environmental elements. The bearing retains a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease for sustained performance. Additionally, a Black-Oxide/Magnetite coating is applied to enhance corrosion resistance, extending the bearing's longevity.
This versatile bearing has been widely employed as a suspension pivot bearing by various bicycle brands and has found application in pedals manufactured by Burgtec.
Enduro's comprehensive line of bearings encompasses high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 options with ceramic or stainless balls. Each bearing is meticulously designed with the deepest groove races feasible to accommodate larger balls. Furthermore, these bearings feature dual-lip seals that glide within micro-grooves, forming a comprehensive labyrinth structure that ensures superior protection against harsh environmental conditions.
