Over two decades ago, Enduro Bearings introduced MAX type bearings specifically tailored for bicycles, targeting the challenges inherent in mountain bike pivots. MAX-type bearings offer a 35-40% higher load capacity compared to standard radial bearings. This is achieved through a unique design that maximizes the number of balls inserted into the bearing via a custom ground slot in the races. These bearings feature deep race grooves that provide increased lateral support, effectively countering the twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. The ABEC-3 bearing design includes deep-groove races, Grade 10 balls, and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals to offer optimal protection against environmental elements while maintaining a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease. The extra-wide design significantly minimizes flex in the suspension linkage, enhancing stability.
